Hey guys:

Thanks for your suggestions.  The program I was trying to
compile is Mesa3D (www.mesa3d.org) which is not supplied by
RH7.3 (at least I could not find it or they gave it a
completely different name).

I tried to install the version from RH7.2 from rpmfind.net,
but there was a problem with the new libraries in RH7.3,
and did not want to force installation.

I tried the command "ldd" also, but keep getting this
message

ldd: missing file arguments
Try `ldd --help' for more information.

I tried ldd -d, ldd -v ldd -r, still same answer.
