You have all been helpful and even insightful.
As I opened the thread, Let me close it by stating..
  I for one don't believe most users are without care for the situation, just
lazy.
Windoze is everywhere.
 I noted the pattern early on ( 1985 ) switched to DR DOS, then Geos then
Coherent finally OS/2. I continue to use OS/2  4.51.
 I was happy to find Linux in 1996. Computers represent creative thinking, to me.

When someone forces their way of thinking on me....
Well it just turns me away.
Microsoft has always forces the customer to operate their way.
 I will continue to  support the independent way...
Even it sometimes results in 240 meg update in 40 hours!!!
