from /etc/sendmail.mc

define(`confAUTH_OPTIONS', `A')dnl
TRUST_AUTH_MECH(`DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl
define(`confAUTH_MECHANISMS', `DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl

remove dnl from the second two lines

m4 < /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /set/sendmail.cf

service sendmail restart

That's it.

Remove all relays from /etc/mail/access
