This issue was discussed on the list a couple of months ago. Basically, there is a problem with the way snmpd parses /etc/mtab (using getmntent). This bug has been filed in both the net-snmp project's site and RedHat's. Net-snmp has a patch which fixes the problem, but it seems RedHat has not applied it to their sources. You can find the patch in the net-snmp site. A few moments ago, I tested under RH 7.3 (which I recently upgraded to), and found that it no longer crashes. Now the snmpd show disk usage under both the host.hrStorage and enterprises.ucdavis.dskTable branches of the MIB. Now for some tests I have performed: RedHat SNMPD version version host.hrStorage enterprises.ucdavis.dskTable 6.2 4.2.3 YES YES 7.2 4.2.3 NO NO 7.3 4.2.4 YES YES Tests not yet performed: - Upgrade SNMP packages in 7.2 to 7.3 versions - If that doesn't help, rebuild SNMP source packages from 7.3 in 7.2 system. Once I get to try out these tests, I will publish the results to the list, unless some kind soul does it first. Cheers, -- Javier Gostling Ingeniero de Sistemas Virtualia S.A.
