The version number may differ, but info is here:

Basically, You need to define a key in both /etc/named.conf, and
/etc/rndc.conf
[root@tuxfan root]# tail -5 /etc/named.conf
key "key" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "Your secret here";
};
[root@tuxfan root]# cat /etc/rndc.conf
options {
default-server localhost;
default-key "key";
};
server localhost {
key "key";
};
key "key" {
algorithm hmac-md5;
secret "Your secret here";
};
