Hi,
I am fairly new to Red Hat Linux 7.3 and Linux in general. I have trying to set my system up with a Windows XP and Linux 7.3 partitions which I have accomplished but am having several issues with other things which I have detailed in the following items. If any one can help and address these issues I would be glad to hear from you.
As I go along here, I am getting the impression I am going to have to setup a small network with something like Samba and use XFree86 or XWindows. If anyone can just point me in the right direction I think I can handle most of these issues.

1. I am still having trouble with Grub not working. When I initially loaded Linux Red Hat 7.3, I instructed the program to use Grub. I have since had 2 things happen. First, the major crash of Windows which I fixed and I am no longer using Partition Magic. Second, I had checked through as much information as I could on the internet, Red Hat site...etc and found the "rpm" command which led to me find missing files. Along the way, I wanted to add the KDE desk top (I thought I had loaded it initially but I had not) and finally figured that out. When I found and checked the setting for the loader KDE had it set as LILO and not GRUB.
2. I have no sound. (I cannot figure out how to attach the right files if they are there and not missing) my printer (Canon Multipass C755) is listed as a device in the description but is not listed in the driver list and I'm not sure which other printer (not necessarily Canon) that I can substitute. Finally, I have no idea how to add a modem.
3. Now, after I figure out all of the above, I'm not sure how I can connect to AOL (yes, I use them). I contacted them to see if there is a Unix/Linux version or Machintosh/Apple solution and they advised not at this time. I found a few articles that mentioned that they are working on a solution (Apple OS X) but have not completed it yet. I don't think that I can tie into your server because I don't think there is a dial-in connection. I checked into free/almost free services but I will keep checking and maybe I can come up with some type of solution.
My goal is to be able to dual boot between Windows XP and Linux Red Hat 7.3 and be able to tie into the Net into my AOL accounts and network my lap top in a similiar way.
What do you think...is this asking for too much?
