  Glad to have helped. Editing the /etc/modules.conf is what kernelcfg
really does, but graphically presented.
  I doubt if the kernel upgrade had anything to do with your original
problem, as I still run a 2.2.19 and RH7.0.
  During the install process, the Adaptec 154x  just really doesn't
like getting 'probed', so the base address and irq, dma setting mostly
need to be added as options.
