I know this might sound vary vague but can someone give a few pointer to what could be going on. When I halt or reboot the machine, xinetd always fails to shutdown properly but when the machine boots it start ok. If I check the status of it is get a message "xinetd dead but pid file exists". Any help would be appreciated, it's the first linux box I have setup and just getting to terms with the OS.
