We have a dynamic DNS server on campus, and have both Windows and Linux clients on the network. The Windows clients are configured to use DHCP, and they register their computer names in the dynamic DNS server when they attach. I can get the Linux clients to get an IP from the DHCP server, but can't figure out how to get the client to register itself with the dynamic DNS server.
Can someone point me to some info that would help? I've scanned through the last couple of months of postings and couldn't find a topic that addressed this. Someone mentioned that this list has searchable archives, but I can't find the search mechanism. I would appreciate a pointer to that resource, too. Thanks in advance!
