Sort of. LVM typically allows for a lot more than just RAID 0 - you can
usually dynamically resize volumes, bind multiple physical volumes into
a single volume, and more.

Windows dynamic drives can be a bunch of things - simple, spanned, RAID
0, RAID 1, or RAID 5. For details, see Microsoft's web site at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q175761&;

For a whitepaper on a Linux LVM implementation, see the SuSe paper at
http://www.sistina.com/lvm_whitepaper.pdf.  This paper also discusses
the differences between RAID and LVM. This paper has benchmarks
covering performance of the LVM.
