Can't say this is the "right" way to do it (I'm a tyro when it comes to Linux) but this is what I did when I upgraded Netscape. I went to the original Netscape directory and renamed netscape to netscape.save. Then, in the same directory, I created a symbolic link to the new netscape, so:

ln -s /usr/local/netscape/netscape ./netscape

(I think that's the right syntax. Maybe I left off the last parameter "./netscape" as the target).

In that way, any application that calls netscape from the original directory, ends up actually calling the new netscape. The same thing should work for mozilla.

Re: Upgrade to 8.0 Questions

I haven't had problems of this nature, but I HAVE had the problem that I upgraded to the new version of Mozilla, but when I'm clicking on an external link in Evolution, it uses the old version of Mozilla instead of version 1.1, which is the new one I upgraded to.  WHY???  I've messed with the File Associations settings, and even though I've done that, it still persists in using the old version of Mozilla.
