maybe you can help me with this, too - two days ago I upgraded RH7.2 with
the last errata, also the xinetd security fix.

Since then, on one machine, xinetd will keep vpop3d dysfunct (ps status
'Z') and no more honor connects on port 110, in irregular intervals. The
only remedy is to restart xinetd.

As well, the sgi_fam demon refuses to start (xinetd[21681]: pmap_set
failed. service=sgi_fam program=391002 version=2).

Interesting enough, the very same upgrade on the other RH7.2 box doesn't
show any problems - sgi_fam still up and running, and wu-ftpd via xinetd
always available, no dysfunct processes at all. Granted, the pop3 is
accessed a lot more heavyly than the ftp daemon...
