I'am not so sure about that. I just upgraded from 2.4.18 to 2.4.18-17-7.x and this caused me a lot of trouble since the alsa-driver wouldnt work although it compiled well.And the benefit of this upgrade is not much. I understand it if it was from 2.4.7-10
