I think what he was asking is did you reinstall redhat on your box? The only safe way to recover from a hacked box is to start from bare metal and reinstall. A lot of the issues you are experiencing could come from a hackers attempt to create back doors and avoid detection by replacing programs that could detect him or keep him out.
