Thank you, I've been pulling my hair out over this!. I installed redhat8 on a system, copied my standard passwd,shadow,group files over and it cannot find any of my group ID's. I have one group that exceed that length. It def. buggered it up, it reports that it can't find group ID's for anything over gid500, with the one line in there. works on all my other systems, which are rh 7.1-7.3. We need this fixed right away. does anyone else have any ideas.
