Thanks,
I tried the:
rpm -qi ICAClient-6.30
rpm -ql ICAClient-6.30
and it shows the client installed. However, the /usr/lib/ICAClient/wfica command returns an error message:
An error occured. The error is code 12 (E_MISSING_INI_ENTRY)

What am I missing here? Are there any config files that I should have modified?  Thanks a million!

no. i am not connecting to citrix server through browser. this citrix server is on our lan but under someone elses control. it doesn't have any web based services enabled on it. i am just using it to test my RH8.0 and citrix client implementations.

yep. i too downloaded the same file (ICAClient-6.30-1.i386.rpm).

Just logged onto RH8.0 gnome as root user and executed the below command:
rpm -i -h ICAClient-6.30-1.i386.rpm

Later executed the below scripts to check the installation:
rpm -qi ICAClient-6.30
rpm -ql ICAClient-6.30

Its working fine for me. Please note I am connecting to a Citrix Server on Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server edition using /usr/lib/ICAClient/wfica.

Thanks.
I went to the citrix site and found a client, an rpm, (ICAClient-6.30-1.i386.rpm) and installed it on mr RH box, you know, rpm -Uvh blah blah.
But I am still getting this message when I connect to the citrix server about downloading boilerplate.asp.

Did I get the correct rpm? There was only one for Linux. Thanks for your help

I would have to search but a quick fix is to issue a create a general username and passowrd on all Linux boxes.
Remember, Linux does REQUIRE a password to launch the system.
Once the user authenticates locally on the Linux box then a startup script will launce the browser, which has the citrix server's http as the default.

I would like some help. Do you have a RedHat 8  linux box with a citrix client installed? That's what I am trying to find and install now. Thanks

Hi Michael,

Could you find a way to automatically logon to linux and invoke citrix client without any manual intervention?

thanks and regards,
Sreedhar.

Hi Sreedhar
I am trying to accomplish the same thing here. With a RedHat 8.0 box.
I can hit the Citrix server through the Mozilla browser (http://192.168.131.7) across the lan.
I authenticate and see all the published apps on the citrix server but when I click an icon to launch the app it is prompting me to download a file named boilerplate.asp.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Subject: X Window system

Hi All,

We want to use Citrix client over LH8.0 and connect to a Citrix server. I am looking to setup something like this:
1) user power-on his pc (it's a linux pc with citrix client)
2) linux 8.0 boots and directly opens citrix client
3) user provides his username and password for connecting to citrix server
4) all required applications for user are available thru citrix client

I don't want user to make an explicit logon to linux window system (GNOME or KDE). Rather I don't need GNOME or KDE start at all if Citrix client can open directly (instead of desktop) using X server daemon.

Please direct me which configuration files are the right ones to be modified so that linux OS boots and directly opens Citrix client without any manual intervention after power-on. Directing me to the documentation about X server and its startup process is also well enough for now.

Thanks for all your help.
Best regards,
Sreedhar.
