thanks for the infomation. I tried the makemap /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access

I figured out what my problem was with sendmail. Wayne, you may want to check to see if you have the same issue. Below is what I did to fix it. ## In the /etc/mail/access file I added the following line ## to allow relaying from inside my LAN 192.168.1 RELAY ## And ran the following to update my /etc/mail/access.db file. makemap /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access ## and I added mydomainname.com to the /etc/mail/local-host-names file ## and restarted sendmail Hope that helps. Anyway - to your question. sendmail is an SMTP server - OUTBOUND MAIL if you want to use Outlook to grab mail from the server you'll have to set up pop or imap. Have you tried logging in as that user and checking their mail with pine or whatever?
