thanks for the infomation.  I tried the

makemap /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access 

and it tell me that is not the correct syntex.  I'm using rh8.0.  I'm I
missing anythingin the command line?

Sorry about the html.  I didn't realize it was on.  I figured out
what
my problem was with sendmail.  Wayne, you may want to check to see if
you have the same issue.  Below is what I did to fix it.

## In the /etc/mail/access file I added the following line 
## to allow relaying from inside my LAN

192.168.1           RELAY 

## And ran the following to update my /etc/mail/access.db file.

makemap /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access

## and I added mydomainname.com to the /etc/mail/local-host-names file
## and restarted sendmail

Hope that helps.  It worked for me.

Can you guys please stop with the HTML if possible?

Anyway - to your question.

sendmail is an SMTP server - OUTBOUND MAIL

if you want to use Outlook to grab mail from the server you'll have to
set up pop or imap.

Have you tried logging in as that user and checking their mail with
pine
or whatever?
