Hi When I upgraded kernel from 2.4.9 to 2.4.18 there was an error in starting system. In details it was the problem with init aic7xxx problem (message tells about init parameter problem). My sistem didn't load SCSI module driver and it cannot mount root system. I tried to insert options in /etc/modules.conf: options aic7xxx irq=10 io=0xfc00 (in kernel 2.4.9 these options wasn't necessary, but they are described in documentation of SCSI). What kind of problem might be in my system and what should I do to tell my aic7xxx about loading:)) ? RH 7.1
Did you rebuild your initrd to include the aic7xxx module you built for 2.4.18? man mkinitrd Or just build aic7xxx into the kernel.
