First, reconfigure the normal syslog daemon by rewriting rules in
/etc/syslog.conf.  Ipchains writes 'info' messages, for instance.

Secondly, use a package like logcheck--er, now it's called LogSentry, but
it's still Open Source (http://www.psionic.com)--to scan, extract and mail
'interesting' log entries to you on a regular (cron) basis.
