The warnings occur because you changed the xinetd configuration files
before updating. Since the update doesn't want to overwrite the files
and thus squash the changes you've made to them, it installs the
new files with a ".rpmnew" extension to them and shows you a warning.

FWIW, I diff the new and old files, change the new files to mimic
the old ones and then replace one with the other. YMMV.
