Based on some pointers from Chad Hanson during todays LSPP call, I briefly looked into the current state of integration of the XACE patch in the X.org xserver tree.

Bryan Ericson of TCS updated Eamon Walsh's original XACE patch to X.org 6.8.2 (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2005-February/ 006452.html , http://dgoeddel.home.insightbb.com/X/ ) in 2005.

Alan Coopersmith and Eamon Walsh made a number of commits in June 2006 to get the XACE patch into git and compiling against X.org 7.x (http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg-xserver;a=shortlog;h=XACE- modular ). There is some evidence ( http://wiki.x.org/wiki/ ChangesForX11R72 , http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2006- June/016566.html ) that XACE might make it into X.org 7.2.

Any information on plans to mainstream this work or build on it with a window manager would be appreciated.
