Okijima speaks!

My comments -

- Hard to feel sorry for the guy. I mean, this is his 4th year in the US. If he
doesn't speak English yet, or at least enough
to have a simple conversation with his bullpen mates, whose fault is that?
I've read that Dice-K actually speaks
English quite well, or at least understands a lot more than people
think....
But then again, I have this wacky idea
that people who live here ought to speak our language.....

- This whole media thing is bull. Yeah, they are a PITA and many of them try to
create news, not just report it. But there
are plenty that are also apologists for the players, or at least aren't
looking to kill them, just give them an opening to
state their side. And again, is he just noticing NOW the difference in
approach between here and Japan?

- I wonder why the Sox wouldn't let Dice-K hang in the BP when he's not
pitching? That seems like kind of a simple
(partial) solution to his issue of 'loneliness'. OTOH, it seems like they
don't have much of a relationship outside of
    the team.
