Youkilis had a MRI at Mass General this morning and was found to have a torn muscle in his thumb Doctors are uncertain about the extent of the injury but it's serious enough that Youkilis would risk a more severe injury by playing. In the meantime, there's no way we're going to let him play and take a swing and hurt his career. That's why he's on the disabled list.
