Sox supposedly will only do 4 years/$52 million, so same amount per year. I don't see Beltre putting up big numbers in Oakland, though. He only has 2 HRs and 9 RBIs there over the past 3 years, in 88 ABs (although he did hit .330).
I'm resigned to the fact that the Sox are going to lose both Beltre and V-Mart and not get Adrian Gonzalez this winter (next summer may be different), and that we'll be starting the year with Jarrod Saltalamacchia as the starting catcher. Jed Lowrie will probably be playing third base. Not real exciting, and very little thump in that lineup. Tito better get his NL playbooks out. Beltre's agent, Scott Boras, continued to tell some here that Beltre might eventually land a five-year, $85 million deal. --- Sounds like crazy money to me, at least for Beltre who is the model of inconsistency. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Red Sox Citizens" group.
