Did he doing something different in ST this year than in years past? I guess you could say a whole bunch of things -
3 guys coming back from injuries that cost them big chunks of last year - Pedroia,Ellsbury, Youkilis. The last 2 are playing terrible right now. New guy in a new league - A-Gon - although he has looked mostly good (batting .350). New guy in a new town - Crawford (probably pressing a bit for 142 million reasons, but he is coming around). Pitching - well, not much excuse here vis a vis last year, except for maybe Beckett - and he probably had the best outing of the 5 starters. Bullpen - lots of new guys leading up to Bard, and a couple of the BP pitchers have had a bad outing that killed us - Bard in Texas, Reyes and Wheeler last night. And who thought that Wake would have a lower ERA than all 5 of our starters?? Sweet!!! Should I attribute the herniated disc in my neck bulging farther to cause arm pain and weakness to the play of the Sox? Nah. The boys will get their heads on straight. Tito really has to look at spring training. They're just not mentally playing the regular season yet. Other clubs have guys vying for starting spots and there's internal competition for roster spots and starting roster spots. The Sox are so full of hi-salary guys and top league players that they know they're gonna start and cruise thru March without a good effort. That's what I'm thinking anyway. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Ouellette [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2011 04:56 AM To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: On the bright side I remember this one time when they were tied ... man, that was sweet.
