I just don't see it. This "scare the players" approach is just counterproductive. None of these guys needs the money or needs to put up with what they see as crap from the manager. Collectively, they could sink him in two weeks.
Pedroia's comment came from a team leader and fan favorite. If he and Youk start ripping the manager bedlam will follow not far behind. Bring in Ortiz, and the management will dump Bobby V and add him to the Dice-K, Lakey list of bad investments.
