This sad start got me thinking back to the late 80s when the Sox shook the
team up after weak early start. I think the Sox sent down Sam Horn, brought
up Pat Dodson and made some other whole sale changes. I couldn't find the
details.

I did, however, find a few Google newspaper links that are just treasures.
The one article talks about the plethora of AAA talent the Sox had in 1987.
Remarkable when you think about it.....the Sox had an entirely home grown
team at some point.
