Funny, I had a similar thought about both Scutaro and Aviles. You could see those guys being poster children for the Red Sox news "flexibility" strategy, finding those gritty players who fill a specific niche in team building. I don't object to them trading them both away, but I think both players show that predicting these sort of performances can be difficult. MIght just be a matter of timing and good fortune.
