Thanks for the info. I have a 55 watt PC . What wattage of MH would I need for my 45 gal.

MH plus power compacts or any type of actinic supplement would be great, you could even go 4 96 watt PC for a good price, but you wouldn't get the glimmering effect. I am figuring you mean compact flourescent by CF.

I am setting up a 1x2x3 45gal reef .What would be a good lighting set-up( MH plus CF or just CF) . I plan to build my on fixture.
