Thanks for the offer, but I only have 175w ballasts... want to go 6500
because they have a higher PAR rating. I have seen tanks with them vs 10k
and although the look of the tank was better, the color of the corals was
much better under the lower kevlin bulbs. I saw a guy with 55 k MHs on his
tank along with 6 VHO Actinics and his corals looked absolutely beautiful.
Very colorful. He had gone from 10k to these, for the same reason and said
he will never go back. I took some of his frags home, but em in my tank
(about 1 month ago) and they are starting to loose color. I wanted to
expirement with the 65k and see if a higher par rating would bring the color
of the corals back and actually, I have a 55k coming just to put it in and
see what it does over a couple of months (I expect the tank to look nasty,
but want to see if the corals color up) and then go to 65ks and see what
happens there. Also, I am thinking of running the one 55k and then adding
the 65k along with it and 4 vho actinics....
Thoughts??
Shane

Shane, why switch from the 10k? I just went the other way and don't
think
I'll ever go back. The color is soooo much better (imho). I'd send
you my
6500k to try, but it's a 250.
