Shane,

I remember Ron H's instructions...

Use a couple of layers...remove one layer every couple of weeks, until they
are all gone. Way back when,  I had an acro that refused to open up....Ron
told me to use 3 layers of egg crate, remove a layer every couple of
weeks.....well at the end off about 6 weeks, when all the layers where gone,
sure enough the acro opened up. I have used this method to introduce all my
lps coral into my reef and it works out great. It's the easiest way, I have
found, to acclaimate corals to new lights, or a new lighting environment.

All,
I am getting ready to switch my old MH bulb out for a new one. It will be a
significant change because not only is it new, but I am going from 10k to
55k. I am planning on covering the tank with a layer of eggcrate in order to
allow the corals to adjust. Question is this:

Is one layer of eggcrate going to be enough and how long should I leave the
layer(s) on the tank? I am thinking one layer for one week. Is that enough?

TIA

Shane C.
