Jules,
I don't know how expensive those are in the UK, but they are pretty
expensive over here. I had emailed the list some time ago and told everyone
about a night light that has the same look as the moonstrip lights, except
you can get them for about 2 or 3 bucks each instead of the large dollar
amounts (I think they were about 2 hundred bucks when they first came out
here in the states). They are made by a few different companies, and are
called indiglo night lights (another one is called moonlight night lights).
You can plug them into a regular outlet, so you can use and extension cord
and suspend them in the hood. I have had 2 of them above my tank now for
about 3-4 months and they seem to work well. I think my total cost was about
10 bucks. If interested, try checking out any of your local home improvement
stores, they may have them.

FWIW

        Hi All,
Have any of you tried the Moonstrip flat 'emissive light' by
Brighter
Technologies?? It has just arrived over here in the UK and I was
going to
hook it up to my neptune with the moonlight function??

        All opinions greatly recieved...

        TIA
        Jules
