I meant to reply to you message the other day but ran out of time!!
I see you have brushed off the snails - great!! Unfortunatly they will
probably be back!! I have had two clams die in the last couple of months
because of these snails, they just wouldn't go away. When I had the clam out
of the tank in a bucket of water picking off the little buggers I would see
egg masses in the scutes of the clam and on the sand near where it was.
After a couple of weeks the clam would have loads of tiny snails on it...
repeat the process and the same happens!! I have got a six line wrasse and
he obviously isn't doing wat he's supposed to!! I am going to trade him in
for another one to see if I have more luck!!
Sorry to bring bad news and I hope that you are lucky and have got rid of
them but I would keep checking as the snails seem quite hardy and appear
again from nowhere...
