Hello Shane, my job is fixing computers. Splicing a USB as far as I know is
not possible. There are several small wires inside and they would all have
to be spliced together in the proper sequence not an easy job. Also the wire
would pickup a lot of interference and would probably no longer transmit your
data without corrupting it.

Do you know what they USB cords look like inside? Are they a few large wires
or is it a bunch of small ones? I ask because I wonder if it would be
possible to cut and splice a couple of 15 footers to get a longer cord. Why
the heck would they make it impossible to link the cords?? Strange...

As for the usb extension cord--- none exist. I think the max link
you
can find is about 14 or 15 feet. I work in the purchasing
department of
a large computer company in Alabama. I have even tried calling
cable
manufactures to see about getting one made and no such luck. They
also
put an end to connecting 2 cables together. Usb products have an
end
that is not male/female it's called a/b. The usb A end will not fit
into the usb B end. I do know that there is no length restriction
just
that you loose some quality the longer you go. Just like a printer
cable sometimes you can use a 100 ft cable and sometimes not
