USB is very picky. You cannot extend USB very far without a repeater (Hub)
You could put a USB hub halfway between. Otherwise, you will get serious
signal degradation. It's much like how SCSI is. You can always try it and
see. You will get slower bandwidth for sure. Here's a good link on USB:
