Is it on the cap or the stalk. If its on the stalk cut about 1/4" above the
top of the ring and throw that part away. Then use mesh, i use old onion
sacks that i rinse really well, to attach it to another rock. You can also
try gently scraping the area with your finger nail until you reach solid
tissue. Keep squirting the area with water and removing the flaking tissue
and it should be ok.
