I just recently purchased a new magnetic scraper, and I am so happy with it that I had to let everyone know about it. This is by no means my first magnetic scarper. In fact, I have at least four different brands laying around....laying around because most of them suck! I have been searching for that holey grail of algae scarpers which will make my life easier. Some of you may think I'm crazy, and you may not be far off. However, my 125 gallon reef is built into the wall, and the only access to it is from behind it in my laundry room. You can imagine how hard it is to scrape the front glass! I love this setup, but it's a pain in the ass! Anyway, on to this "miracle" scraper. First off, it floats! Yeah, you read that correctly. No more sticking my entire arm into the tank to search for the scraper after it flew off of the glass and took out some coral or other inhabitant. I already can hear your questions, "If it floats, it cannot be that strong of a magnet!" Well, I'm not sure what kind of magnet it uses (rare earth perhaps?), but it doesn't weigh anything and is very strong! And since it's not that heavy, it doesn't want to fly off the glass as easy when you have to really work at that really tough patch of hard algae. Anyway, it's really cool. I ran across it by accident at my LFS, and I paid $20 for the Float-125 up to 125 gallon tanks. I'm not sure where you can get it on the net etc., but here's their web site: http://www.magfloat.net/ Kinda corny lol Sorry about the rambling...
