Hi Tom,
Gonipora's are usually doomed, but mine is still doing well after 3 years
and its the normal green variety. The opinions over here in the UK are that
the Red variety is hardier than the green and I know several people who have
had good success with them. If you want a gonipora lookalike I can recommend
an Alveopora which are rarer than goni's but are much easier to keep!!
