Theoretically, yes. An UV filter should also help. However, I
have both, and I still have to scrape the glass at least once a week. It
did help by adding the UV, but ultimately you'll always have to scrape the
glass.

I know there must be a simple answer to this problem: After
many years of reef keeping, I've become tired of cleaning the glass. I
do the magnet trick about once a week and the razor blade trick about
once every other month. Would a better skimmer alleviate
this? If not, what? The tank, otherwise, appears healthy.
