Did you check your pH?  This type of reaction can occur in Xenia if the pH
changes in the tank (esp. if it goes below 8.0 or above 8.4).  I had this
problem with my first Xenia colony, and it turned out that my alkalinity had
plummetted for some reason, taking my pH with it.  HTH.
