All,

I have temporarily employed 2 rabbit fish in my reef tank to try and help me
get rid of the caluerpa that has plagued me for over a year now. I know
these fish get large, so they are only intend to be in the tank until the
caluerpa is gone. Does anyone else out there keep any of these fish or has
anyone kept them in the past? If so, how were they in your systems?

Mine are really skittish. I started with one, and my scopas was kickin his
ass, so I added the second so they could school a bit. I hoped it may help
the one. Well, it did. They immediately began schooling, and hang out
together a lot now. The Scopas pretty much stopped messing with them as soon
as I added the second. He still pushes them a bit, but not much at all. They
have been in the tank for 5 days now, and although they come out, they come
out and swim up and down the front of the tank. They dont seem to be eating
any caluerpa or anything else for that matter. When I lift the lid of the
tank to feed, they freak out, swim behind the reef and stay there for a long
time. So the food gets eaten before they come back out, thus they dont get
any food.

I suppose they must be eating something, because they were somewhat skinny
when I bought them, and they have not starved to death yet, but who knows.
Does any one have any experience with these fish beyond what I have
explained?

TIA,
Shane C.
