shane,
it can take as long as a week to get up to speed.
get a alk and cal test kit and test the effluent for alk and dkh and cal.
then let me know what they are
When I built my first one it was too small for my tank and couldnt keep up
with the demand.
you have a 120 right???
I would start the effluent drip at about 1-1.5 liters per hour. with about
20-25 bubbles per min of co2. let stand over night then test tank in morn
and effluent. then adjust from there.
if you add additives you'll never get the cal reactor dialed in. youll just
yo yo around.
hth
lemme know if you need more help.
Dave
