Ohhh, I didnt know that, thanks anyway for the info.
So youre saying the little giant is not a quiet pump? I think it is pretty
quiet, the problem is the venturi of the ps.

I disagree marco, not "all" pumps require oil. and I dont think the iwaki
do.
I know mags, and quiet ones do not need any oil.

all pumps require every 3-6 months some oil so the impeller can work
correctly and dont stuck.
I recommed you vortex oil, which is intended for this purpose.
THe problem is that i dont know where in the pump you must add it, but
probably in the top of the pump there are some little holes.
And as a matter of fact, my little giant has 2 little holes, but i still
dont know in which one should I add the oil, can anyone tell me in which
one??
Marco
By the way, Im back and I didnt brought any algae nor fishes, as i was to
exhausted to dive for some. So I didnt commit any "crime"!!!!

All,
I was lucky enough to purchase the main pump to my set up cheaply. Very
cheaply, because it was used. Only problem is the guy who sold it to me did
not have any owners manuals on it, and did not have any idea what type of
maintanence the pump takes. The pump is an Iwaki 100 RLT. It has started to
make a weird sort of vibration type sound. My question is, do these pumps
require any type of oiling and if so, how often??

TIA!

Shane C.
