Title: RE: serpent stars?

Sounds like yours is a different species than mine. Mine has legs about 6" long, the body is 1 1/2" to 2" dia. & the whole bottom side (body & legs)is very spiny. Not sure what you are calling the heads?

One of mine stays on the bottom and the other one stays mid-way up my
mountain of LR. Both stay hidden most of the time with just a half-inch of
one tentacle sticking out. The bodies are smooth and the heads are smaller
than a pencil eraser. The only spines are along the sides of each tentacle
and are used to grasp the pellets I drop in. I'm still unsure as to whether
there is a different varitey that is "brittle" and more dangerous to reef
mates or whether these are the beasties that I should be thinking about
removing from my little piece of ocean.
Any KISS clarification would be appreciated (KISS = keep it simple
sweetheart) (g).

Still not giving up on the anemone.

Thanks,
Larry
