Subject: RE: Mantis shrimpI had a similar experience this weekend, but with a crab. A really nice looking crab came in on my rock, it was kind of peach colored with purple highlights & a spiny appearance. Friday it was eating my Cucumber & I thought maybe it died & the crab found it. Then Saturday my red Bali star ventured down off the glass onto the rock in the area where the crab was & the next time I saw looked there were only five partially eaten legs left. At this point I knew it had to go but it was hiding so I kept an eye out & he showed up on top tearing up & eating a colony of red feather duster worms. Luckily I was able to putt it into a net with a kebab skewer & get it out of there. What's worse is my new Anthelia polyps are missing & I think there may be more crabs. Such is the life of a reefer....

Title: RE: Mantis shrimp
Chris,
I know how you feel, its horrible to know that something in the tank is killing
all your beloved specimens, and that its really little you can do about it,
because probably moving 100 lbs of lr isnt even an option to find and kill
those rascals.
Good
luck, maybe adding a wrasse would help since they like to look in the rocks for
shrimps and crabs and that stuff.
