Hi Ben,
I use both a CO2 reactor (Korallin) and a Kalk reactor (Ratz). I use both so
that the Ph, Alk and Calcium stay more stable in my tank. Since adding the
Kalk stirrer I have noticed much more vigorous growth from my SPS and clams.
I mainly use the Kalk stirrer to keep my Ph stable over night as that is
when it gets used. I dose 3litres of RO/DI water through the Kalk stirrer
over the 12 hours that the lights are off. My Ph only drops from 8.4 down to
8.2 doing this.
The powerhead inside the ratz reactor is an Aqua Bee, it is mounted with the
outlet facing down, this makes the kalk only mix for 2/3 of the reaction
chamber, the top 1/3 stays clear. I have the stirrer come on twice per 24hr
period for 10 mins only... it doesn't need to stir often!!
Any questions, I will be happy to try and answer...
HTH
