I can't agree more. I have just purchased some sand form Pure Agronite and
I can say that this is really great sand. They suggest that you do not
rinse it and I am very pleased with it.

Please respond to
reefkeeping
Home depot sells Southdown Tropical Play Sand, but I would not use it. I
could not find it in my area so I contacted Southdown & they told me they
did not recommend it for aquarium use. Southdown is a construction dist. &
their sand is handled along with fertilizers, gypsum. etc.so there is a
risk of contamination. They referred me to www.purearagonite.com or
1-866-sand bed, who sells the same sand but handles only sand. Their sand
cost more than play sand but less than Carib Seas.
Hope this helps
Chris

I know this has been brought up many times previously but I am going to do
it again. I recently upgraded from a 100 to a 180 gallon setup and am
looking for more sand. Can anyone tell me the brand name of the sand from
Home Depot that is supposed to be the same as the Carib Sea reef sand.
Thanks in advance.
