hi shane.
IME combisan sux! made a total mess of my tank when I used it.
the iodine is probably chelated so your test kit wont be all that accurate.
right now I soak all my food in selcon (vitamin) and feed regularly and
fairly heavy.
I have since started feeding my corals on a regular basis with food soaked
in selcon and have gotten great results. also I dose kent iodine and kent
phytomax.
the results have been staggering!! I woulsdnt use combisan, coral vital or
any other of those snake oils. once you get a functioning cal reactor you
wont really need the trace element additions.
youll get enuff with your waterchanges and the cal reactor.
but these are things that work for me. and are just suggestions.
hth
