Speaking as a participant: I commend the attached internet-draft announcement to your attention as it is on the agenda for the meeting this Thursday. Unfortunately, through a series of technical snafus this document did not get posted back on 18 October. Even today it took several attempts to get this through Github. I’ll get this sorted as we move forward.
Slides have been posted for this document. However, I will not be presenting the slides; they are available if I need them to answer questions. This document has one significant, material change from the prior version - its applicable scope is now “related groups” rather than “IDN variants” primarily to accommodate the use of this extension in support of Latin Diacritics (which are not variants). There is more descriptive text in this version than was present before, but functionally it is the same as it was at the last IETF. In this meeting I have one question for the working group: Is this work appropriate to be adopted by this working group? We asked this question back in March. We didn’t get any objections but we did get a number of good comments, which we have tried to fully incorporate in this version. There is still an open question of comparison to other related work, and we will get to that if this work is adopted.
