zIrc an irc client based on existing rfc's. It is coded in java. It's an
MDI application, support several internals frames (channels, servers, dcc,
etc...). His usage is GPL and we are a small team (3 people).

Actually most of the commands are supported, also smileys and colors. The dcc
protocol is working (resume supported).

Supported platforms are windows and linux (mybe solaris and mac but not
tested) and it's tested on jdk1.4.2 and 1.5 (some bugs with the langage and
the font but looks much better!)

Next steps are: finish the favourites module, create a FileServer, then will
see:)...

Your project requires proprietary software and cannot be hosted

on Gna! for this reason.

Gna! is willing to provide resources and time to developers

writing Free Software that can be used without the need to ask

permission from a proprietary software vendor.

If, someday, you get free of those dependencies (see

<http://www.gnu.org/software/java> for more information), do not

hesitate to resubmit your project.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

- for the moment I will say "no, our software doesn't run on a free software
java suite (because not tested)"

- change reference to GNU/Linux

Hello,

>With linux I was meaning the OS

That was my assumption. Did you get my comment about it?

Apart from that, can you clarify this java issue? Does your software run on a
free software java suite?

Hi,

With linux I was meaning the OS (suse, red hat etc..).

I hope I have understand your question right, my English is not so good...

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval at Gna!.

You must determine whether your project can run on a Free

Software Java suite (see <http://www.gnu.org/software/java/> for

more information).

Please provide us more information about this point.

"Linux" is just a kernel of a more complex system that we like

to refer to as GNU/Linux, to emphasize the ideals of the Free

Software movement.

Would you mind changing references to Linux as an OS to

GNU/Linux?

For more information, see

<http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html>
